Job purpose:

The (Junior) Key Account Manager Retail role is midterm planned to take over responsibility for customers in Germany/Austria. With that, the role will be responsible for ensuring appropriate market share and sales volume levels within the defined scope and will be the main point of contact for assigned customers. Close work relations exist within our matrix structure with the different internal disciplines (Sales Coordination, CM, Marketing, Customer Service) to ensure customer satisfaction and development. Within an enlarged onboarding period, the role is planned to learning to know in depth the customer landscape as well as the McCain WOW within Retail KAM by a focus area on Data & Analytics (category management insights, potential analysis, project management).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales analysis, market research (Circana, GfK) to monitor & improve performance.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports and presentations
  • Conception of selling stories, market, SKU and customer analysis
  • Specialization on data & analytics within KAM team
  • Negotiate yearly conditions and trade marketing activities
  • implement commercial strategies and product launch plans effectively.
  • Design and align appropriate activation plan for the assigned customers
  • Forecasting of volumes on monthly/SKU base

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commercial, Finance, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
  • First experience in Key account management or solid other commercial expertise with ambition and willingness to develop into a RT KAM role midterm
  • Sales Analysis, Data & Analytics: strong analytical skills and strongly advanced excel skills. Proficiency in analyzing sales data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of marketing principles and strategies to support the implementation of marketing decisions and plans
  • Brand Management: Ability to contribute to increasing brand awareness and ensuring consistent brand representation in retail environments
  • Distribution Management: Understanding of distribution channels and logistics processes to optimize product distribution within retail stores
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills: Ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise sales reports and presentations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Languages: German & English are mandatory
