Interesting challenge for students

Topic

Are you passionate about cutting edge production technologies? Do you have a feel for the potential and added value of new technologies and can you transfer existing technologies to new, different products and business models? We are looking forward to you and your expertise.

You are responsible for creating a trend map within the framework of the production technologies of the future and to work on these. Topics such as Additive Manufacturing or Circular Economy, but also other areas, are elementary guiding areas. Based on this, you will create a platform that contains an overview of existing technologies and potentials and their stakeholders.


Background

Honda R&D Europe (Deutschland) GmbH, based in Offenbach, Germany, is a renowned research and development center that continues to push the boundaries of innovation. This also includes the manufacturing technologies of the future which are to represent our future products in a broad product range. Therefore, in the context of production, cutting edge technologies are crucial for us to meet the highest requirements.


Target

  • Building a trend map in the context of future/trend manufacturing technologies and other key-topics like circular economy
  • Focus is on structuring and setting up a trend map for different defined technologies within and outside Honda’s field of business
  • Development of a data basis and network of relevant companies, start-ups, universities, and individuals
  • Preparation and presentation of the results

You should meet the following requirements:

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required
  • Deep technical understanding of manufacturing technologies and future topics in the automotive industry
  • An already existing network in the university environment and relevant companies is a plus
  • Knowledge and an enthusiasm for new technologies as well as a good understanding of technical correlations
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to working effectively with our team
