Head of Production Process, Clay

The Role

BMI are looking for a Head of Production Process, Clay to deliver most efficient/effective production and reduce complexity. You will be responsible for solving complex problems in the production process. Your tasks include building winning teams and improving the quality of our products. You will be actively reacting to internal and external changes with focus on energy efficiency and value adding activities. Furthermore you will foster systemic and automated data intelligence thinking as a drive of continuous improvement.

The position contains frequent international business trips and work at different BMI locations within Europe. You could be based at one of our production sites in Germany, e.g. Heusenstamm, Werne, Bamberg, Saarwellingen, or in the Netherlands, Groningen, and/or work partially from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production process knowledge management (documentation & trainings & people knowledge sharing) within BMI
  • Central management of best & bad practices (materials, recipes, production equipment and processes, ranges of products, capacities, locations)
  • keep updated the BMI Clay Network, organize and steer international best practices meetings within BMI
  • Promote and lead process improvement initiatives:
  • Application of new production process technologies
  • Implement controls systems & support shop floor control projects
  • Lead projects to improve Quality, OEE and Costs through a lower consumption (energy, raw materials, labour), and environmental footprint reduction (CO2, scrap, waste, etc).
  • Actively participate in solving complex problems in the production process
  • Collaboration within BMI TC, E2E SC, Quality, HSE
  • Keep up to date with new process automatisation (also out of our businesses) applicable to our industry (digitalization, automation)
Qualifications
  • university degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in computer science, electrical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, ceramic engineering, mining engineering
  • Fluent English (add. Language preferred, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian)
Experience
  • Team management experience of at least 5 years
  • experience in the process or industrial industry
  • Proven track record in process engineering within manufacturing
  • International professional experience
