The DHL Innovation Centers are the key driver for customer-centric innovation and due to its success, we are expanding the global footprint of Innovation Centers (IC) and rebuilding our Flagship facility near our Bonn HQ in Germany. With 4 Innovation Centers globally (Troisdorf, Singapore, Chicago and Dubai (mobile)) and state-of-the-art digitalization, there is an ever-present need for global direction, management and consistency for all technology and digitalization aspects (audio-visual, networks, virtual studios, smart building solutions and systems, tools etc.) related to the ICs to achieve consistent state-of-the-art solutions, improving both customer and employee experience and realize efficiencies. Technology plays a huge role in the IC operations and your role is essential for our continued success and growth. The position involves a high degree of global exposure, working with management and managing partners and suppliers to provide a ‘best in class’ service across all tech topics at the ICs. You will own our global tech stack, drive initiatives from our global roadmap aimed at improving existing setups, identifying new solutions and harmonizing our tech landscape across the four DHL ICs worldwide. You will plan, lead and execute new innovative technological solutions while reflecting our obsession with customer-centricity. You will manage various project simultaneously where you need to align business goals, ops requirements and underlying technology. We are looking for someone who follows tech trends and constantly brings in innovation and new ideas.
Your tasks
Strategic:
- Own the tech stack across all ICs and be THE global tech responsible for a network of DHL Innovation Centers (ICs)
- ?Scope includes audio-visual, networks, virtual studios, smart building solutions and systems and other customer experience related tools & equipment across all ICs
- ?Develop and maintain knowledge and technical capability relevant for DHL IC and drive constant innovation. Highly aware of new sector/industry developments, and emerging technologies and systems and always look for ways to improve operations.
- Maintain a positive relationship with a global network of stakeholders through effective communication.
- Understand wider DHL and IC specific processes globally and develop abilities to navigate this landscape to deliver exceptional quality solutions.
- Have the ability to quickly respond to requests or problems, also ad-hoc
- Manage the consistent use of agreed tools / solutions / equipment / methods from a technology perspective and address user problems.
- Provide excellent input and aim to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Be willing to learn, push boundaries and go beyond the expected. Continuously bring in new ideas.
- Manage stakeholder expectations in terms of implementation possibilities, requirements and budgets
Regular (50%):
- Manage complex and competing demands with multiple stakeholder globally from all 4 DHL Innovation Centers relating to AV/IT, smart building system, digital signage, virtual studios and state-of-the-art meeting room experiences etc.
- Work closely with various stakeholders across the IC ecosystem globally to determine their needs, technical setup. Identify improvement potentials based on detailed evaluation and
- propose alternative solutions to improve technological landscape, in a manner easily interpreted by stakeholders
- Create and maintain knowledgebase and training materials to ensure team members are able to access and apply solutions for known issues
- Organize and facilitate relevant systems or technology trainings for IC operators / staff
- Lead the creation of tech-related SOPs, align with local and global stakeholders, make these available to wider groups as reference
- Manage inventory and stock management incl. documentation and maintenance processes
- Hold regular meeting with wider IC teams to discuss technology related issues
- Lead efforts for process, equipment and solution standardization across the DHL Innovation Centers
Special projects (50%), examples/ initial scope:
- Manage the technological development of the DHL Flagship Innovation Center rebuild in Germany (state-of-the-art building to be constructed) incl. AV/IT, smart building system, digital signage, virtual studios and state-of-the-art meeting room experiences and beyond/
- Explore possibilities to implement new cutting-edge technologies in all tech aspects of the facility
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies and vendors with respect to the various aspects i.e. vendor lineup, bidding process, offer evaluation & selection, service etc.
- Lead technical discussions internally with wider team to match operational / customer experience requirements to technology and possible solutions
- Set and maintain budgets
- Delivery exceptional quality work for owned tech related workstreams, with max efficiency.
- Coordinate with other work streams
- Finalize the smart building solution from our Americas Innovation Center, lead the fixing of bugs, place customer experience in the center and lead the implementation of solutions
Your profile
- University degree in business, innovation, engineering or other technical fields, Masters level preferred
- At least 4 years professional experience in a related field, preferably with a background in AV/IT, business, smart building solutions, engineering, technology or innovation
- Passion for innovation, new technologies and customer solutions and process improvement
- Structured and organized
- Motivation and experience to work with a wide range of stakeholders globally and be part of a very international team
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
- String project management
- Eagerness to work in a team within a highly dynamic environment
- High ambiguity tolerance, ability to work under pressure and can-do mentality
- Self-motivated, independent and proactive thinker with a deep desire to grow and learn
- Demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- German language is an advantage
