Finance Director

Responsibilities

• Leads the finance organization with responsibility to drive financial performance across all aspects of the business.
• Responsible for developing a business focused finance leadership team together with ensuring a strong controls environment and reporting results.
• Provides financial leadership to support the Leadership team in strategic and budget planning and to support business development opportunities.
• Maintains focus on consistent delivery of monthly/quarterly financial results.
• Provides intelligent business insight to the senior management team for decision making (e.g. scenario analysis / risk and ops balances / right and timely corrective measures/actions).
• Stimulate global product profit analysis and aligns the products profitability with regions and product units (value streams)
• Focuses on continuous improvement of financial support to the business and an effective controls environment.
• Drives working capital performance across all areas of the business.
• Drives re-organization activity to ensure benefits are on or ahead of planned timescale.
• Provides insight and influences the management team to take early countermeasures and / or lean further into opportunities that will maintain a trajectory of earnings growth both within and beyond the current financial year.
• Develops and maintains the orientation for cost efficiencies and productivity improvements.
• Continues to develop talent, with strong development and succession plans.
• Develops improved accountability for financial performance throughout all P&Ls and functions.
• Accelerates progress in how the business efficiently integrates new acquisitions.
• Develops sound business proposals for product evolution/innovation, capital investment and expansion opportunities.
• Drives the financial input to the strategic plan and annual operating plan (AOP).
• Leads of the Finance and Controlling organization and function for Howden Turbo with sites in Frankenthal (D), Peterborogh (UK), Helsingoer (DK) and Espoo (FI).
• Co-responsibity for the local Information Technology team together with global Howden IT.
• Leads the HTO Customs & Export Control functions.
• Managing and ensuring the annual audit and annual financial statements for the legal companies responsible (HTO GmbH, HTO UK Ltd., HTF Ltd.).
• Drives harmonization and optimization of administrative functions in the overall Howden set-up in Germany.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance.
• CPA required.
• 5+ years of experience in a significant financial leadership role in a complex, matrixed, global company with $200+ million in revenues.
• Demonstrated results in meeting financial commitments, profitability improvement, working capital management, and continuous improvement.
• Previous experience with acquisition due diligence and integration is a plus.
• Previous experience with ERP implementations or transformations.
• Experience with significant global reorganizations is a plus
• Effective working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX experience.
• Experience working in a lean management/continuous improvement culture is essential.
• Demonstratable experience developing talent.
• A history of being recognized for financial acumen and trusted by the business.
• Strategic thinker able to grasp the wider financial objectives and to engage with peer group on solutions thinking.
• Bias for taking informed action.
• Ability to travel up to 30 - 40%.
