Your Impact:

Jacobs is looking to hire Finance & Accounting Manager (m/w/d) for Jacobs GmbH in Germany. In this position you will be responsible for accounting, finance, tax and internal/external reporting for Jacobs GmbH in Germany. This includes the technical leadership and reconciliation with the central group accounting (located in Poland) as well as coordination of all relevant transactions with financial management (located in the UK). This newly established function reports in a matrix organization directly to the managing director of our German operations, and the group finance manager in Glasgow.

Key duties of the role include:

• Acting as main point of contact for auditors, authorities, banks and insurance companies
• Close collaboration with the local management and the responsible group functions as well as with the treasury team in Krakow, Poland
• Coordination with external tax consultants regarding annual reports and corporate filings
• Completion of VAT returns and all related VAT matters, working with third parties as required
• Responsibility of tax issues in cooperation with the tax advisor’s office
• Completion of any Germany government reports as required by German legislation / accounting rules
• Working with the European tax team based in the UK on all tax matters
• Redefinition and continuous improvement of financial accounting processes and structures
• Timely preparation of monthly reporting, as well as quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS as well as balance sheet planning and forecast
• Deliver timely, relevant and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis/data to Finance Stakeholders and relevant Operations partners
• Accountable to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, cost accruals and overhead charges in finalizing the P&L of each business unit on a monthly basis.
• Preparation and ownership of the annual budget review and challenging the business unit on proposed targets for the year
• Permanent development of controlling tools and KPI’s together with the management and group functions.
• Ensuring best practice is maintained and implemented where required, in line with company requirements, audit requirements, SOX and IFRS
• Continuous development and automatization on reporting systems

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• 
  Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business studies, or comparable training
• Several years of relevant professional experience in the financial sector as well as management experience (preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of the relevant financial and tax laws, standards and industry-specific regulatory requirements
• Proven communication skills at all levels, in both English and German
• Practical knowledge of ERP systems - experience with Oracle would be an advantage
• Flexibility in an very dynamic environment
