Do you have an established electrical safety/engineering background? Are you able to work autonomously and do you thrive in a stimulating and complex environment? Are you interested in Electrical Safety and Operations?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Electrical Safety Officer. The Electrical Safety Officer will provide support to the offshore projects related to the Safe System of Work (SSoW) [namely Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR), Electrical Network Safety Rules (ENSR)]. This person will be technically responsible for the electro-technical operation of the offshore wind farms in Germany as the responsible verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft (vEfK), according to DIN VDE 1000-10.
Responsibilities
- Direct communication with the construction and service organization through their respective wind farm management
- Point of contact for electrical compliance for offshore construction and service activities in Germany as well as other countries (e.g. Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, etc.), as determined by the direct line management.
- Ensuring Vestas is legally compliant with German and European electrical regulations, standards, and best practices, e.g. VDE, DGUV ArbSchG, EN 50110, etc.
- Responsible for the safe operation of the Vestas offshore’ electrical installations in Germany and other assigned country(ies)
- Technical responsibility of the electro-technical operation of the offshore wind farms in Germany as the responsible verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft (vEfK), according to DIN VDE 1000-10
- Oversee and direct Elektrofachkraft (EfK) working on German wind farm electrical installations within the scope of Vestas
- Ensuring harmonization and implementation of Vestas SSoW in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements of the countries of responsibility
- Providing support to the technical/HSE sales as required, regarding customer inquiries or customer meetings
Qualifications
- University degree in the field of electrical engineering or similar subject and qualification as an electrical/technical engineer in the field of electrical engineering
- Several years of experience within the energy sector, ideally with a distribution system operator or a wind farm developer in a similar role
- Profound know-how of the relevant norms and guidelines, such as DIN VDE 0105-100, DIN VDE 1000-10, DGUV, EN 50110 etc
- Profound operational experiences in the field of installation, servicing, and maintenance of electrical systems
- Ability and fitness to visit offshore sites as well as working at height
- Several years of professional experience as a vEFK according to VDE 1000-10 as well as in the operation of electro-technical systems is desirable
- Fluent German and English language skills
Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of low voltage and high voltage and relevant policy knowledge in electrical networks
- In depth knowledge and understanding of European electrical regulations and standards
- Experience of Authorisation of personnel and associated processes
- Confident Microsoft Office user, skilled PowerPoint user
- Interpersonal skills and a development-oriented mindset
- A structured, systematic approach to problem solving
- Open mind detailed and proactive vision with the ability to make structured decisions
- A team member with the ability to guide and inspire

Additional information
The default workplace for this role is our office in Hamburg and Vestas’ offshore installations in the region, but working remotely from home with regular and ad-hoc business traveling is also an option for the right candidate.
