About This RoleWells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk Associate.
This position will support Lead Credit Risk Officers (’LCROs’) and the Head of Credit Risk in all aspects relating to the management of the WFBI credit portfolio.
In This Role, You Will
- Support LCROs across all lines of business (’LoBs’) throughout the entire credit decision process, including reviewing existing and new client transactions and periodic reviews of client relationships. LoBs will include Commercial Real Estate (’CRE’), Corporate Banking Group (’CBG’), Financial Institutions Group (’FIG’) and Capital Finance (SCF & CDF).
- Perform credit and financial analysis and assist in the preparation of credit reviews to support decisions, including constructive engagement with the respective LoBs
- Ensure that all requisite documentation for requests for Credit Approvers and/or Credit Committee is received and processed in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.
- Timely collation and circulation of Credit Committee packs.
- Interact with the Risk Analytics team and maintain a database of Annual Review and Country Risk Reviews.
- Maintain a database for the monitoring and reporting of open action items relating to credit decisions and follow up directly with lines of business to close out action points.
- Record clear and accurate Credit Committee minutes and circulate in a timely basis for review and approval.
- Assist the Credit Risk team with both internal and external information/ reporting requests, e.g. relating to internal audits or regulatory requests.
- Participation in ongoing projects and initiatives, including resolution of any CBI/Audit/Risk Asset Review issues.
- Assist in the preparation of Credit Risk reporting to ExCo, Risk Committee, Credit Committee, the Portfolio Monitoring Forum, WFBI Board, ALCO, Group Reporting, Regulatory Reporting and the Regional Risk Team regarding asset quality, concentration metrics, expected credit losses, Watchlist and general portfolio performance.
- Degree educated (or equivalent).
- Experience in a Financial Institution.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to critically analyse client loan/credit requests and identify key risks.
- Ability to identify key takeaways and follow up items from Credit Committee meetings.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact, negotiate and communicate with all levels of management, staff and customers.
