Position Description

Purpose of the Job

As Business Control Manager you are responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland together with the team. You will provide the Finance Director and the other members of the management team with financial analysis, forecasts and reports on business performance measured against KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • You coordinate, prepare and consolidate business plans including long- and short-term forecasts, the monthly rolling forecast and all additional forecasts requested by management.
  • You provide support and guidance to the managing directors and functional area managers in the development of their business plans assumptions.
  • Together with the team you prepare all relevant financial reports and dashboards for the management to support the understanding of current and future performance.
  • High quality financial information and follow-up of business- critical KPIs are provided by you.
  • You drive costs analysis in the markets based on cost centre reports and you provide the management with recommendations on productivity improvements
  • Fee income analysis in the markets are driven by you and you work closely with the sales team to develop new revenue streams
  • You will support the management and analysis of underperforming products
  • You will be responsible to prepare and coordinate the w1reserves modelling, compliance, and governance.
  • You are responsible for accuracy of pricing and profitability reporting and you will support the month closing process as appropriate.
  • You support other functions in developing executive information, reporting and measurements for financial and non-financial data.
  • Part of your tasks are developing and driving Business Intelligence capabilities across markets as well as steering and delivering reporting for internal and external purposes.
  • You constantly drive efficiency improvement for all financial planning and forecast related items.
  • You assist with special projects as required, occasionally abroad.
Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field required
  • Master’s Degree in related field, CIMA, ACCA, CFA or other relevant qualification is a plus
  • Experience in financial modelling and planning, business analysis, data analytics or similar data-driven function
  • Minimum 5 years of financial modelling, planning, and business analysis experience, preferably within a financial services environment
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry a plus
  • Strong evidence of personal initiative
  • Strong strategic thinking and storytelling skills
  • Innovative problem solving and strong analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert level skills in Excel and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Exceptional grammar, business writing, and presentation preparation skills
  • Excellence in reading, writing and speaking English; German language skill is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate staff management
