About the opportunity
We are currently looking for a Account Payable Supervisor to join ourFinanceteam.
This role is based in Berlin, Germany, and will be reporting to our Finance Director.
In this role you will:
- Oversee all AP related activities in the mentioned region.
- Interview prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge,and abilities required for the job.
- Train and oversees employees involved in AP functions.
- Assign tasks and provides assistance as needed.
- Assists with performance evaluations.
- Oversee reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Develop guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records
- Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
- Verify payments before controller’s signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
- Reconcile accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g.,subsidiary vendors’ ledger)
- Facilitate correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
- Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What we expect from you:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in working in an ERP system such as Oracle Netsuite
- Highly skilled excel user
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Excellent supervisory and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- At least 2-5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role
- Experience in a similar (startup) retail environment
- Experience in managing high volume AP-processes
- Proficient in German will be an added advantage
