Head of Property - Major Leisure/Retail client-side role

Salary: Up to €120,000 pro rata + bonus + package

Location: Hamburg, Germany

Contract length: 3-6 months

The organisation

As a leading retailer and leisure operator across Europe, our client is looking for an exceptional Property leader to join them to set up their in house property function.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with influential retail leaders across Europe and set up a property function for the German commercial business.

The business is regarded as a pioneer in design and innovation within their leisure operations. They’ve grown organically and through acquisition. They are the number 1 brand in their territory and their business is made up of passionate and exceptional individuals.

The role:

You need to have the ability to be in a standalone role (with input from in house legal and finance teams) but are happy to roll your sleeves up. You will be able to make an impact quickly through being commercial as well as technically sound. You will be required to write business cases and demonstrate ROI.

The role requires you to review the estate, create a database of the leases, write plan and action accordingly, sitting down with landlords and negotiating. You need to be able to pull everything together and create savings across the estate as well as working with senior stakehodlers across the group to deliver strategic corporate real estate strategies.

The suitable candidate:

  • You must be a German and English speaker
  • You should be degree educated with a Chartered professional qualification.
  • You must have experience of working client side in Germany
  • You will either be a leader already in a similar organisation or will be ready to step up into this level of role.
