As an integral part of Shell’s Integrated Power Strategy, Shell Energy (SE) and New Energies (NE) have the ambition to substantially grow its European Business to Business (B2B) Gas and Power supply and sales business across European countries.
The establishment of our Green Energy EU Team is key to this journey. This team will be responsible to develop and sell green solutions for the B2B customers and will be a key contribution to the wider Shell Energy Transition. Moreover, this team will be accountable in accelerating the growth of Shell’s B2B green energy products by leveraging the company’s experience and the sales, origination and trading capability across the wider organization.
What’s the role?
As the Green Energy Originator, you will report to the Commercial Manager Green Energies. You will also work together with the European Markets Teams and with a small team of experts to identify opportunities in the market, in order to develop a sustainable funnel of customer opportunities and to link supply and sales.
In this role, you will collaborate with the Markets Teams as well as other teams within Shell to translate Green Energy products and solutions to the different European Origination Teams and customer requirements vice versa, to establish critical organization capabilities.
Furthermore, Your Accountabilities Are As Follows
- Originate complex deal packages with speedy screening for a healthy opportunity funnel.
- Act as a key Interface to SE-EE Renewable Originators and NE Energy Solution Development Team (Europe).
- Lead the Deal Team to deliver growth opportunities in Green Energies (biomethane, hydrogen, renewable products, certificates) as well as pitching and negotiating complex energy solution offers for Shell’s B2B customers across Europe.
- Drive solution focused engagement with critical functions for deal delivery such as Tax, Finance, Credit, Regulatory Teams, etc.
- Focus on efficiency, synergies and avoid creating bottlenecks.
- Work closely with the different regulatory teams, understanding the country specific framework as translating opportunities/risks for the business and customers.
Beyond That, We’d Hope To See As Many Of The Following As Possible On Your CV
We’re keen to hear from individuals who have proven experience in Green Energy products (Such as biomethane, renewable energy, energy solutions, etc.) and with Green Energy certificates.
- Extensive experience in green energy business development /, origination, deal delivery and implementation of different structures, counterparties in different markets, operations.
- Excellent and in-depth knowledge of European energy markets and regulations, specifically Gas and Power in depth knowledge.
- Proven key account and stakeholder management. Wide external network in the European energy markets.
- Experience in Trading Environment, Green Gas, Power.
- Proven track record of commercial complex deal making from deal identification through to delivery.
- Ability to understand and develop complex deal structures, pitch to senior management and run a full mandate process.
- Strong collaboration skills to ensure a one team approach and alignment with the different teams
- Ability to think and work strategically while seeing the bigger picture and setting objectives in order to develop and improve the business as well as carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes.
