Job Description


We continue to grow in automotive electromobility sector and we are looking for Strategic Supplier Sourcing Manager based in Bochum Germany. Your skills are in demand now and please come join us as much as we want you.


  • Develop strategy and investigate across a high portfolio of global suppliers while initiating cross functional projects across the product management, R&D, sales, legal, order fulfilment and procurement and materials department
  • Develop and execute of long-term supply commodity strategy, landed cost modelling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, negotiations, purchasing strategies/programs and long-term contract establishment
  • Establish, negotiate contracts and ensure cost effective supply of commodities (battery test and charging, chamber for 3PP suppliers to support Automotive and Energy Solutions (AES) business segment
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies and reduction program through supplier development processes, audits and continuous improvement activities that drive down total cost
  • Drive and solicit risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operation strategies
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of the latest industry/supplier/technology trends and procurement practices and their potential impact on business plans in Automotive and Energy industry
  • Lead supplier selection activities, identify/recommend alternate sources of supply and conduct periodic supplier business performance review
  • Establish strong supplier partnership models which best match R&D/manufacturing footprint and business needs
  • Establish strong collaboration and partnership with senior management levels, R&D, GSD, engineering, marketing, sales and service and procurement to formulate strategies surrounding all products for supplier engagement and total internal buy-in to win customer orders and close deals
  • Act as an escalation point in managing supplier performance concerns


Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Marketing, Industrial/Electronic Engineering or Business
  • Fluent and proficient in both English and German (written and spoken)
  • Minimum 6-8 years working experience in a professional procurement/supply chain and legal contact related environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of battery technology, EV testing, electric vehicle energy storage systems, charging systems and power delivery would be an added advantage
  • Assertive, self-driven, leader who has experience interfacing with cross-functional and cross geographical teams to deliver results
  • Strong teamwork skills in collaborating with internal and external customers
  • Ability to create a contract from standard company or customized contract templates with limited supervision
  • Previous experience working with contract regulations the related laws is strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytic skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation abilities and presentation mastery skills
  • Strong in project management skills
  • Creative, aggressive, drive speed in action and able to adapt changes and challenges to transform and identify new opportunities
