Nuremberg // Remote (within Germany/UK/Spain) | Full-time employee

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in the area of data replication in relational databases and transaction management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain solutions to replicate data across database clusters and networks

  • Thread safety and inter-process communication experience

  • Solid experience with transaction mechanisms and transaction safety

  • Hands-on experience with building highly available software and services

  • Assist our customers and partners with your expertise in their data replication projects

  • Create and enhance documentation, showcases and examples that show and explain the solution’s replication capabilities

  • Support our Exasol trainers by developing training materials for data replication

  • Use your knowledge about data replication to further educate your colleagues

Your profile:

  • You have experience with data replication and transaction mechanisms

  • At least 3 years in-depth experience as Java developer

  • You are motivated and eager to broaden your knowledge within new areas, when necessary, e.g. internal workings of the Exasol database

  • You are proficient with relational databases and SQL, especially with merge-type statements (i.e. you can hand-optimize SQL statements)

  • You have basic Linux and Linux scripting knowledge

  • You have experience working with Docker or other container technologies

  • You have a customer-centric mindset and your goal is always to create an optimal user experience

  • You have a good understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture

  • Fuency in English
