This role is responsible for the testing, deployment, and support of commercial software, ensuring it meets all business and client requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Contribution to team efforts to implement quality assurance standards
  • Writing of automated tests ranging in scale from specific unit tests to full system regressions
  • Ensuring tests verify both the ”happy path” and common edge cases, user errors, and security vulnerabilities
  • Integration of tests into continuous integration pipelines and monitoring frameworks
  • Documentation and performing manual testing steps, when needed
  • Composing (or automate creation of) bug reports with all info needed for engineers to identify or recreate issues
  • Execution of build scripts and evaluation of production readiness of builds
  • Contribution to internal and cross-team discussions and engineering decisions
  • Acting as a product/customer advocate during planning and design discussions
  • Participation in Scrum activities ensuring QA and testing are considered as early as possible on all stories
  • Encouraging an open, collaborative team dynamic
  • Communication with team and management about deadlines, roadblocks, and status
  • Keeping up to date on relevant technologies, methodologies, and tools
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or similar field
  • Minimum one year of professional experience developing automated software tests
  • Ability to test at all levels of an application or service, not just user interfaces
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple languages and platforms
  • Experience with continuous integration and build automation
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology, tools, and techniques
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment: learn rapidly and master diverse technologies and techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of one or more automated testing frameworks/tools (Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)
  • Experience with Jenkins or similar build automation system
  • Familiar with JavaScript, and one or more JS frameworks (Angular, React, Node, etc.)
  • Familiar with one or more object-oriented language (Java, C#, Python, etc.)
  • Comfortable in both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and virtualized test environments
