Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop innovative sustainable solutions to challenging technical problems? You would be joining our Offshore Structures Team. This exciting team of experts support the entire offshore wind business within RWE. We work to build a renewable energy future and as a team to set the standard amongst our peers. We invite you to bring your experience as a Senior Metocean Engineer into play as you help to deliver our offshore projects.
Are you our new colleague?
Your key tasks and responsibilities:
- Setting, monitoring, and maintaining RWE’s requirements, future tender specifications, and current contracts for:
- Metocean data measurement campaigns
- Hindcasts
- Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting (e.g. extreme event analysis, site assessment reports)
- Evaluation of simulation results, technical solutions and risks as well as preparation of information as a basis for technical decisions.
- Providing the metocean data for the design of offshore wind foundations
- Senior technical interface to internal and external stakeholders on metocean topics
- Ensuring RWE’s metocean data and knowledge are fit for our current and future windfarm needs
In addition you will also:
- Develop internal metocean models and analytical tools, and the analysis of previously collected data to develop internal understanding of site conditions
- Be RWE’s technical expert on ground breaking joint industry and research projects
- Highlight lessons learned and draft and suggest improvements
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Quality, and HSSE departments
You will be a key part of RWE’s offshore business, and have an extensive remit, working across our portfolio of wind farms at all stages of their life.
Your profile:
- Degree or equivalent in Oceanography or an relevant alternative.
- Experience in project management through all stages of a project.
- A detailed understanding of modelling simulations, including numerical flow and wave model
- A detailed understanding of metocean measurement campaigns including sensor types, data acquisition and storage and risk management.
- Proven background in relevant prior roles, preferably in both contractor and client organisations.
- Understanding of Industry Technical Codes, Process and Regulations.
- High regard and good knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Demonstrable competency in working within multi-discipline teams with a high level of communication skills at all levels.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
- Good communicator and excellent team player
- Fluent spoken and written English.
