Senior Data Engineer (m/w/d)

Be part of the AutoScout24 Data Platform Engineering team. This key role provides you with the opportunity to build and refine the services at the foundation of our Data Landscape.

The role:

• Contribute to the design and oversight of our data landscape, emphasizing reliability and efficiency along with self-service
• Modelling and developing resilient solutions to store, ingest, process and analyze high volumes of data from different sources
• Constantly applying logical, analytical and critical thinking to "big data", with a strong desire to learn about new trends and how to implement them
• Review current data orchestration processes to find opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate on the delivery of data, and its transformation, to efficiently contribute to company data models
• Adept in agile environments, ready for frequent development cycles, continuous delivery, DevOps and DataOps work
• Adopting a consulting and coaching mindset to best support data stakeholders in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
• Lead knowledge sharing sessions to ensure your contribution to a team and company culture of continual growth

You are/have:

• You have a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Math or in a comparable field
• 4+ years work experience
• Business-proven hands-on experience in AWS is a must
• Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Hive, Kafka) knowledge is a plus
• Experience in Scala, SQL and/or Java
• Understanding of the basics of ETL work and data modelling
• Know-how of Linux, Shell, and DevOps tools
• Solid experience in data modelling, resilient engineering
• You collaborate in diverse and visionary teams and settings
• Strong communication skills
• You are fluent in English, German is a plus

Nice to have:

• Understanding of technologies used to collect and transform consumer data
• Familiarity with complex software systems, microservice architectures, and real-time processing.
• Practice in Clean Code, Test Driven Development or Pair Programming
