The Genomics market is constantly growing and Beckman Coulter is a major actor of this exciting world thanks to his gold standard, AMPure XP. Our Genomics department has a vital role at Beckman Coulter: our focus on innovation, reliability and efficiency has led us to become the partner of choice for biggest worldwide institutes. Beckman Coulter is a Danaher company, operating in two industries: Diagnostics and Life Sciences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the sales of Beckman Coulter Genomics products.

Key responsibilities will be to manage and develop current customer accounts and to develop both new customers and competitor accounts within the defined North of Germany (Hamburg, Hannover, Berlin) and Netherland territory role, to ensure maximum growth and achievement of pre-determined bookings and revenue targets and to actively promote the company’s products and services.

This position will report to the European Sales Manager Genomics.

Responsibilities

:
  • To develop high level relationships with selected customers throughout the organization from procurement to key scientific staff and use this to develop strategies for customer development.
  • To identify opportunities for new products in Genomics
  • To produce a detailed business plan and visit management activity in line with company strategic targets for assigned customers and territories.
  • To gather market intelligence and feed it back to the Sales manager and the respective peers in the organization.
  • Develop negotiating strategies & positions by studying the identified customer base; examining risk potentials estimating customer’ needs and goals.
  • To regularly maintain and document all activities in the Customer Relationship Management database (CRM) effectively and strategic action plan for customers.
Requirements

:
  • The ideal candidate will be educated to a higher degree in Biology, preferred molecular Biology background. A Master degree is an advantage
  • A previous experience of technical selling within the Life Science (capital equipment OR consumables), Industrial and/or Academic sector.
  • Solid understanding of sales skills as prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers are strongly preferred, ideally shown in a track record
  • An experience in Next Generation Sequencing is highly desirable
  • Good organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Meticulous maintenance of CRM for funnel management
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%
  • Proficient to work with personal computer, e-mail, CRM and Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, team spirit, a self-motivated and results driven personality, who enjoys working on their own as well as part of a team is crucial in this role.
  • Language skills: German on a mother tongue level and additional English on a fluent level.
  • Location: Hamburg, Hannover or Berlin
