Our client is an international/multicultural medium sized company from the German speaking region and it is one of the leading manufacturer and distributor of branded merchandise, including apparel for babies, children and teenagers. The company is a supplier to all European leading chain stores, mail order houses and hyper markets. In the past decade our client achieved an enormous expansion. In order to enhance further growth in Baby sector our client is seeking a proven Product Manager - Baby Apparel for the European Region.

Job location: either Düsseldorf Area or Paris.

Tasks

Commercial:
  • Building seasonal/annual sales support strategy per product/market - based on history and company forecast
  • Analysing customer demands and needs
  • Define price strategy per category and product
  • Marketing support, PR, in-store presentations, exhibitions, store checking
Product and design:
  • European standards for safety regulations
  • Define product range requested: number of styles, assortments, colours, license support
  • Manage design team and product development team till range is completed including salesman samples
  • Innovative products and packing solutions
  • Follow special customer design offers till order placed
Sourcing and purchase:
  • Source for specialised production solutions and factories
  • Buying prices strategy to support individuals market’s purchase team/needs
  • Consolidating orders and building vendors matrix to support
Requirements
  • Years of experience in big commercial or babies specialised European chain store – apparel industry (purchase or commercial team).
  • Market overview, relationships and connections
  • Competent, independent, goal oriented and cost conscious working behaviour, as well as friendly and confident appearance
  • Negotiation skills
  • Very communicative and open-minded person
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Able to travel to the Far East at least 4 times a year
