We are now looking for a Plant Lead Engineerfor our technology area of Sulphuric Acid Plants in Oberursel, Germany

The job holder will join the Technology Engineering department, which is part of MCP’s project delivery organization. You will be responsible to lead and/or to represent the respective technology during the project execution phase. You shall define and manage the technology basis for proposals, subcontracting and project execution in the respective technology area.

To strengthen our team for Plant Engineering in the area of Acid Plants, we are looking for a Plant Lead Engineer. You will be mainly leading the plant design of international projects EPS/EPC

Your long experience in plant engineering for acid plants, excellent communication skills and strong ability to work in an international and multi-disciplinary team, are the skills you need to respond flexibly to the daily requirements of a fast-moving business.

As Plant Lead Engineer - for technology area Acid - you will:

• Lead and Manage the Plant design engineering activities related to Sulphuric Acid technology in the proposal and execution phases of Projects in this Technology Area by providing technical expertise/input in all aspects of plant and equipment design.
• Ability to perform conceptual plant arrangement and with knowledge in equipment design for 3D modelling leading 3rd party contractors on plant engineering for 3D models Aveva / Inventor.
• Manages interfaces with other engineering disciplines, process department and procurement ensuring the execution acc. to the planned time schedule.
• Oversees the preparation of Technical Specifications and Engineering Datasheets for Mechanical equipment by the relevant Package Engineers and reviews the same for content and correctness and conformity to the relevant standards and Client specifications
• Participate in supplier selection process, e.g. technical evaluation, negotiations… for external engineering services and for the purchasing of prop. and non-prop. equipments.
• Defines technical requirements (design criteria) for the equipment packages and the plant design acc. to the internal guidelines, the international codes and the contractual technical requirements.
• Manage document flow to/from supplier and review supplier documentation and plans
• Ensure that Equipment inspections are coordinated and managed by the QA/QC department providing technical support/advice to the Package Engineers who supplement the Inspection effort of QA/QC as and when required in the Inspection Process.
• Quality responsibility for disciplines in projects.
• Ensure an ideal communication and relationship with our customers.
• Cost supervision in regard to: estimated hours vs. consumed; estimated costs vs. third parts; forecast updates; planning of manpower capacities. Contribute to cost and efficiency of engineering activities in discipline.
• Technical Support function in proposal preparation, e.g. tender evaluation, scope description, evaluation of exclusions of works, Engineering Services…
  
  

To succeed, you will need:

• Good knowledge in 2D & 3D design tools for plant (AVEVA) and equipment design engineering (INVENTOR). Participation on development of best practices, workflow and engineering tools.
• To be self-directed, proactive team player with strong conceptual and technical networking and team building skills in an International Matrix organization with willingness for international travel
• Minimum 7-8 years’ experience in plant engineering with at least 3-4 of them in sulphuric acid plants and 2-3 as plant lead engineer.
• General knowledge in vessel design acc. to International Codes and standards (ASME, PED), machinery directive… with a very good understanding of the acid process technology.
• Supervising engineering work and self-sufficient package handling
• Field experience for erection and commissioning.
• Very good conceptual and analytical skills to develop practical solutions for execution projects.
• Fluency in oral and written English, additional languages would be an asset.
• Very good computer skills for standard and engineering software.
