We are looking to recruit a

Mechatronics Engineer in the Field of Research

Your Job

You will support the "Electrocatalytic Interface Engineering" department at HI ERN. The research department is headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Simon Thiele. The department is focused on the fabrication, analysis and simulation of functionally optimal structures from the nanometre to the micrometre scale in electrochemically active materials. One focus is on new materials for catalysis and polymer electrolyte membranes. These play an essential role in the field of renewable technologies, such as water and CO2 electrolysers or fuel cells. Here, the goal is to make a significant contribution to the energy transition in Europe. Your tasks in detail:
  • Equipment responsibility and deployment planning for the fuel cell test stands and electrolysis test stands in the department
  • Establishment of standard protocols
  • Familiarisation with the existing processes of the department
  • Instruction of the staff at the test stands
  • Coordinating safety measures and repairs
  • Installation and commissioning of test stands
  • Testing of new applications on the test benches
  • Documentation and creation of a wiki of all processes

We Are Looking For Someone

Your Profile:

  • with training as a mechatronics technician or comparable
  • who is familiar with working in a scientific environment
  • with experience in complex set-ups and their maintenance
  • with experience in writing technical documentation
  • who enjoys working in an international environment
  • who works well in a team and whose motto is a hands-on mentality
  • with a good knowledge of English
