RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of national and international M&A projects and post-merger integrations of the BASF Group in terms of labor law and human resources.
Your tasks will include independently assessing, advising and implementing employment law and HR-related issues in M&A projects and structural changes.
In this regard, you will be responsible for conducting due diligence reviews in accordance with BASF’s global guidelines including Requirement 1 M&A Due Diligence by CFM.
You will independently conduct negotiations with employee representatives, particularly in reconciliation of interests and social plan negotiations, and will be responsible for designing and supporting the resulting processes or measures.
In addition, you will coordinate and manage HR issues in global and regional M&A projects and structural changes.
You will drive the establishment and further development of knowledge management within the unit and HR M&A community and conduct training sessions.
Furthermore, you will carry out the legal preparation of (purchase) agreements regarding social law issues, represent BASF in court in potential lawsuits and act as a contact person for Corporate HR.
QUALIFICATIONS

fully qualified lawyer with above-average results in the first and second state examinations
first work experience in M&A projects; additional experience in the field of human resources law is desirable
focus on labor law during studies and professional career; especially in transactional and collective labor law/works constitution law
ideally knowledge of social law and company pension schemes
business fluent written and spoken German and English skills
confident communication skills as well as presentation, moderation and negotiation skills
high level of analytical thinking and strong independent decision-making skills
