We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) Cloud / Kubernetes to join our E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH team in Munich and Essen. If you are interested, please apply as early as possible.


The Challenge

As a Lead DevOps Engineer Cloud / Kubernetes - you will develop advanced technical solutions for the operation and expansion of infrastructure / services and thus raise them to the next level of quality.

You will design and develop for the deployment of data science (ML) applications and optimize the lifecycle (including monitoring, performance control, development of security mechanisms and upgrade strategies).

You are responsible for continuous development, engineering, automation, and trouble-free operation.


Your main tasks also include:

  • You support Data Science (ML) projects directly in development/PoC, quality assurance, planning and the rollout of product releases.

  • You will develop strategies for automated integration and delivery including Cloud infrastructure and a corresponding Data Science tool suite.

  • You will work on the development of “optimized deployment strategies” and disaster / recovery plans.

  • You will work closely with the Data science / Data Engineering team to improve process efficiency and the performance of the software and system landscapes and will deal intensively with innovative concepts.

  • You will work on strategically oriented projects, manage (sub) projects and represent them in management.


A convincing Background

You have a university degree with a focus on computer science or a comparable qualification and have proven professional experience in the field of DevOps & cloud-native technologies. You have practical experience in dealing with IaaS and practical experience in cloud architectures (Kubernetes, Container Operators, CI/CD Tools, GPU-accelerated architecture). A goal-oriented communication to describe problems and complex issues to the team and clients is a matter of course for you.


You will also have the following knowledge and skills:


  • Comfortable handling of Git, Gitlab, GitOps, CI / CD, outstanding Linux knowledge & deep knowledge of IP network technologies.

  • Excellent system programming skills with Golang, C or Rust.

  • Excellent scripting skills with Python and Bash and automation skills with Ansible and Terraform.

  • Expert knowledge in microservice architectures and transformations of applications.

  • Plus:

    • working experience with GPU-accelerated data science projects.

    • Active involvement in developer communities.
