As part of a Group, our client has been one of the leading insurers offering a broad and needs-based range of insurance solutions and accompanying services for decades. Our client operates through foreign branches, subsidiaries and affiliates as well as network partners in more than 150 countries, offering international industrial insurance programmes. In a team of ten international technical underwriters you will be responsible for various countries. As the Market Manager you will be responsible for all business matters, such as sales, business development, project strategy, market entries etc. You will operate from the global HQ in Germany and work closely with the local entities.

Your tasks
  • Referral point for overseas branches and carrier offices for international engineering/construction insurance business
  • Assessing, proposing and negotiating insurance conditions for all types of products of the engineering/ construction insurance for mainly project business (such as power, infrastructure, building, wet and heavy civils) but as well for annuals or international master programs
  • Active monitoring of local engineering/construction portfolio to achieve HDI’s profit and growth goals
  • Together with your local colleagues, developing regional underwriting strategies for the engineering/ construction insurance to grow the business profitably and to balance the portfolio
  • Analyzing current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance
Your profile
  • Engineering degree (preferably chartered engineer status) or comparable work experi-ence
  • Professional experience in Engineering/Construction Insurance with a primary insurance- or reinsurance Company
  • Work experience in risk analysis and risk assessment in engineering/construction insurance
  • Expertise in engineering/construction insurance outside of Germany desirable
  • You have business acumen, an entrepreneurial mindset and you have an instinct for top business opportunities
  • You are a strong team player, really good communicator and you are used to work in an intercultural environment
  • Fluent written and oral communication skills in English and basic skills in German or at least the willingness to learn German
  • High attention to quality and detail, capability to make decisions and problem-solving skills
