In this role, you will build new capabilities in the region. You will enhance the way we work with our clients on the commercial elements of our engagements and will bring tangible top and bottom line impact to the firm. Building trust-based relationships with the firm’s partners in the local markets, regionally and globally, you’ll support teams in developing standard commercial and more complex models for equity investment in firm clients. Your knowledge of market trends and the ability to identify them will increase our understanding of client positioning in negotiations, provide insights into third party negotiation tactics and enable more impact when advising teams and negotiating.

Your other key responsibilities will include building personal knowledge base. This includes tracking macroeconomic trends, global inflation rates and currency fluctuations, and support the building and running of financial models to support and further develop equity negotiation strategies as well as identify improvement opportunities. Also, you will help research and maintain a database of professional services and industry commercial terms.

You will drive best practice. You´ll also play a supportive role in partner education of best practices for equity structuring, negotiations strategies, tactics and unique McKinsey issues. This means you´ll support the coaching and training on equity and client negotiations and to ensure alignment among the partners and regions.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be based in one of our office in Europe as part of McKinsey’s Equity Investments & Arrangements team. This is a team of commercially minded professionals who help to structure and negotiate non-standard arrangements including performance-based and equity-based arrangements. Your role fits into the client facing side of our team’s mandate. We are growing in all areas of non-standard arrangements and therefore need new team members to help manage our growing number of equity opportunities.

You will report directly to the director of Equity Investments & Arrangements, Europe and EEMA and you will work closely with the equity team, internal stakeholders (such as accounting, risk, treasury, legal, due diligence, partners) and external (clients, portfolio managers, legal, etc.) stakeholders who have a role in negotiating and approving equity arrangements.
