Job Description

EF Simulation System Integrator & Maintainer for the Eurofighter Pilot Synthetic Training System (EF PSTS)

PSTS is one of the Major Support Items within the Eurofighter programme and provides the future simulators for Eurofighter pilot training.

The Simulation System Integrator & Maintainer is a member of the TASTS5 Central Integration Facility (CIF) Site Team, which is part of the Operational Support Department for Combat Training and Simulation.

Major Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and integration activities of PSTS related training devices (e.g. Pre-integration devices, Mini Devices and Full Mission Simulators)
  • Conduct daily and periodic maintenance activities for all PSTS devices
  • Prepare and perform hardware and software upgrades on all PSTS devices
  • Support of test and acceptance activities on PSTS system level at CIF in Manching (Type Acceptance)
  • Close cooperation with the PSTS Integration team
  • Support the system integration activities related to the PSTS subsystems
  • Act as a specialist for one of the PSTS subsystems, i.e. Visual System, Instructor Operator Station, Weapon System Simulation, Synthetic Environment or Network Infrastructure
  • Report to the CIF Site team leader

We are looking for candidates with the following Qualification/Education and Practical Experience:

  • Qualified IT-Specialist (Fachinformatiker) for System Integration or similar
  • Experience in modern simulation technology in military environments
  • First work experience in system integration
  • Experience with Eurofighter PSTS simulator would be favourable
  • Experience in programming languages, e.g. C, C++, ADA
  • Experience with shell scripting (Windows and Linux Operating Systems)
  • Experience with MySQL-DB
  • Experience in complex multi computer platforms would be favourable
  • Fluent in German and English, reading and writing
  • At ease with multicultural environment
