  • Management of the Distributors to achieve an above-average performance

Market, Customer and Product Management:
  • Build and maintain contacts with opinion leaders in the Biosciences field
  • Responsibility for profit and sales for the specified region
  • Responsibility for price lists and price offers to Distributors in defined region
  • Support in negotiation and closing of key opportunities

Team Management:
  • Market-related management of the field sales staff

Business Management:
  • Focus on development of successful sales performance under increasing competitive pressure

Your responsibilities

  • Sales of Biosciences products in the sales area to universities, hospitals, blood banks, Biotech and other companies

  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts for specified area of responsibility

  • Regular balancing of forecasts and budgets in order to recognize divergences from the regional objectives as early as possible and take appropriate corrective measures

  • Regular planning, control and analysis of turnover, sales volume and gross profit developments in the sales region per country according to economic criteria, so as to draw the correct conclusions for the visit activities, visit frequencies and business reviews

  • Implementation of the marketing and sales strategies of BD Life Sciences – Biosciences – develop and implement Marketing Plans for most relevant countries in cooperation with Product Manager

  • Systematic management, directing, and focusing of Distributors with the objectives of :

    • Develop in cooperation with Distributor a relevant Marketing Plan and ensure the implementation, including regular reviews

    • Setting targets/ budgets per product group for main distributors

    • agreeing on objectives and ensuring their implementation

    • regular reviews on actual status and in case of mismatch discuss and agree on gap-covering activities

    • monitoring knowledge in product and selling skills, develop and roll out an development plan to improve the quality of sales calls and negotiations

    • monitoring status of Distributors with regard to actual stage of BD compliance guidelines, initiate appropriate training if necessary

  • Strategic planning of and participation in the organization and implementation of exhibitions and workshops

  • Market and competition monitoring, so as to instantly detect changes in the market, communicate and initiate appropriate measures

  • Close cooperation with Product Management, Sales Management of other country organizations in the Biosciences field in Central Eastern Europe, with Sales and Marketing Management of other BD Life Sciences - Biosciences teams as well as with Technical Service and Customer Service

Preferred requirements:

  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience including developing business cases, preferably in highly competitive markets and matrix organizations

  • Scientific knowledge is a must (Biology/ Medicine preferable), preferable in Flow Cytometry

  • Experience in the health care sector and in the field of technical products that require explanation

  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to motivate employees and interdisciplinary teams

  • Experience and proven success in management of major interdisciplinary projects (project management, product management) or in a leading coordinator role for important customers (key account management)

  • Analytical skills, proficiency working with market data

  • Readiness to travel extensively in the area of operations
