Work Environment

“Vorsprung durch Technik”: This is the goal systematically pursued by the Audi electronics development team – and information technology is now an integral part of this mission. But the increasing complexity of our new and innovative functions and their increasingly decentralized deployment also heighten the risk of hackers potentially tampering with and manipulating our vehicles. Documenting the extent to which risks were minimized – as prescribed – for end customers is the job of the Product Security Testing / Incident Response team within E/E Security. As a member of the E/E Security team, you ensure – either as part of the central team of security testers itself or in coordination with third-party providers – that the envisaged in-vehicle security measures were correctly implemented at component and system level. You implement these on the security HIL, in lab vehicles, on various racks or in individual control units in the around 800-square-meter, dedicated security test lab.

Job Purpose/Role

  • Perform and/or coordinate concept-compliant tests at all vehicle levels
  • Procure, create, commission and flash hardware, software and interface environments for providing the necessary infrastructure, independently, with contractors and/or in your team
  • Review security requirement specifications and specify test cases
  • Optimize/create security test concepts for each vehicle project
  • Perform checks and evaluate the results
  • Create tickets as part of the fault elimination process and track the remedial actions
  • Provide recommendations for release based on cumulated results
  • Create scripts and automation processes as well as protocols and documentation
  • Provide assistance in the simulation of attacks in the field as part of Audi incident processing

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • You have successfully completed your university studies in information security, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics or a comparable subject area
  • You can demonstrate relevant experience in control unit software development
  • You are also familiar with vehicle diagnostics and commissioning processes
  • In-depth knowledge of E/E architecture – ideally with different bus systems (CAN / CAN-FD, Flexray, LIN, Ethernet and wireless standards) – round off your profile
  • You are familiar with product development processes and have experience in project management
  • You are business-fluent in German and English
