WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Independent examination and classification of all goods to be registered and delivered (software and hardware) in accordance with customs law, the Foreign Trade and Payments Act and US (re-)export law.
  • Clarification of classification issues according to US (re-)export law (ITAR)
  • Classification and labelling according to hazardous goods / hazardous substances law
  • Quality control and plausibility check of the delivered documents
  • Independent adjustment of incorrect and incomplete old master data with export-relevant information (including dangerous goods/hazardous substances)
  • Independent review and adaptation of existing classifications
  • Technical advice to projects on the subject of classification throughout the entire product life cycle and support in finding substitute goods
  • Participation in the development of a central material master data maintenance system
  • Coordination with customers, distributors and producers on classification issues
  • Independent preparation of safety data sheets/product data sheets (SDS), risk assessments (HRA) and operating instructions (OI)

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Completed university education and/or several years of subject-specific professional experience (electrical engineering or comparable)
  • Very good technical understanding
  • Ability to handle and interpret legal texts
  • Ideally several years of experience related to material classification
  • Several years of experience in customs classification (import/export)
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex classifications
  • Very good team, communication and conflict management skills as well as intercultural competence
  • Willingness for personal further training
  • Very good written and spoken English (including technical English) and fluent German skills
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
