  • Install, maintain and support key community and commercial codes from life sciences and quantum chemistry. * Support large-scale compute projects running on LRZ’s TIER0 systems. * Keep contact with the local, Bavarian, and German user communities * Conduct/organize tutorials and workshops for the life science communities * Support porting and optimization efforts of user codes.
  • PhD or university (post) graduate degree, diploma, master’s degree or equivalent in a scientifically oriented subject (computational science, physics, mathematics, chemistry, life sciences etc.). * Programming skills in a higher-order programming language (C, C++, Fortran) and at least one scripting language (Python, R, Julia, etc.). * Experience in Parallel Programming (i.e. MPI, OpenMP, Cuda) and performance analysis, libraries and tools. * Knowledge of workflow managers in life science / chemistry (fireworks, radical cybertools, QCG- PilotJob etc.). * Knowledge of HPC environments and system software, e.g. spack package manager. * Experience with HPC applications in the field of molecular mechanics or quantum chemistry. * Good oral presentation and writing skills in German or English.
