The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers master’s programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.
Associate Multimedia and Digital Content (f/m/div)
on a full-time (40 hours/week) basis.
The contract shall commence as of 01 January 2022 and is initially limited for two years.
This is a newly created position aimed at bringing to life the story of our Hertie School community in multimedia formats – predominantly video.The Associate Multimedia and Digital Content, will work with teams across the University to create compelling visual content for multiple platforms, including our website, social media, digital and print signage, and other marketing products.
Your tasks:
- Produce and edit video projects, with full responsibility for video creation including concept, research, location, setup, shooting, editing, and post-production;
- Produce digital media content including animation, motion graphics, and digital displays.
- Provide onsite event support through livestream production;
- For larger, more complex projects, manage the production of multimedia content from ideation through to production with external service providers – including illustrators, photographers or video crews;
- Format layouts of reports, presentations and other marketing materials such as brochures for our Recruitment and Executive Education teams;
- Design promotional materials – i.e. alumni affairs postcards, signage across the building;
- Advise, train and support colleagues from across the Hertie School on how to prepare and share multimedia content.
Your profile:
- Relevant degree in broadcast, video production, graphic design, or related field;
- Minimum two (2) years working in (AV) content creation, videography, and/or graphic design;
- Strong photography/videography skills with DSLR and HD video shoots (lighting, composition, posing, capturing);
- Proficiency with Adobe CC Suite, in particular Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop;
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collegially with staff of all levels and from a variety of backgrounds and cultures;
- Experience with livestreaming to online platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc.;
- Strong writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of various types of content;
- Interest in social sciences, politics, economics and higher education would be advantageous.
