The Challenge

We are seeking a talented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to add to our construction team in Germany. Exp Federal’s APMs provide support for project managers for construction and mission support type projects as well as participate in bid pursuits, staffing and execution of projects.

Principle Areas Of Responsibility
  • Support project manager by coordinating Production, Quality Control, Health and Safety, and international support staff.
  • Monitor and report on subcontractor performance.
  • Generate internal and external project reports
  • Support bid Capture Managers for targeted opportunities; assist with preparing risk paperwork, proposal preparation and pricing; collect data to assist with analyzing price point for competitive submittals.
  • Support the development of project schedules and ensure they are maintained and updated.
  • Review invoices and track billings.
  • Support customer engagement to effectively manage schedule and construction execution.
  • Review and coordinate security plans and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with U.S. DoD active duty and civilian personnel and multi-cultural staff and subcontractors.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ten years of experience in a management role, including at least 2 years as a project manager or assistant project manager.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and leadership skills, especially related to managing international teams and field crews
  • Strong ability to work effectively as part of a project team.
  • Must have an understanding of construction requirements including managing the development of plans and specifications, subcontractor and material procurement, scheduling and budgets, construction execution, and building commissioning.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills (English) required.
  • Ability to operate independently in remote locations.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and hold a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills
  • International experience is a plus. U.S. DoD construction experience is a plus.
  • Specific knowledge of USACE contract management a plus.
  • Experience coordinating /managing secure projects a plus.
  • Knowledge of EM-385 and USACE Quality Control methods desired.
  • Completion of USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) course a plus.
  • Experience in vertical construction, renovations and site utilities desired.
