Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organisation

This role will bring consistency to the space service of the MakerLab Herzogenaurach by establishing her/himself as the main touch point for all first level request, assuring that the space is fully maintained and ready for use, while supporting and empowering our community.

Key Responsibilities

The role will cover three main key areas:
  • Space management
  • Community support
  • Administration
Space
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the MakerLab space, equipment, and materials stock.
  • Be the go-to person for first level request (booking, wayfinding, machine instruction, trainings, tours)
  • Hands-on and technical problem solver in prototyping and making
Community Support
  • Customize training programs so that it can always be employee-centric, and drive training and related activities to create the best impact on the business increase and employee development
  • Support development and management of training-related programs and projects, and contribute to business improvement
Administration
  • Be responsible for event scheduling, purchase order placement, and other administrative tasks to the MakerLab HZO and broader team
  • Track, organize, monitor, and report on progress to key deliverables
  • Support program implementation, enabling successful delivery of project milestones
  • Manage and align all incoming requests
  • Support in the creation and development of tracking tools, videos, wayfinding, and other visuals
  • Assist in presentation set-up, organization, and execution
  • Support program communications.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Motivated people-person with strong interpersonal skills
  • A quick learner, eager to learn new digital and making skills and specialize in the three key MakerLab areas: Sewing / Prototyping / Digital Fabrication
  • Highly organized, structured and detail-oriented individual driven by results and impact
  • High degree of self-management and drive
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with software like Smartsheet/Excel/Sharepoint and Adobe or CAD softwares
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Sewing, Prototyping, Digital Fabrication
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver
  • Passion for making, learning, supporting, and crafts
  • Professional proficiency both in English and German
Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical or Administrative related degree from an accredited school, college or university a plus
  • 2-3 years relevant business experience in a creative environment / workshop
