In this position, you will drive the sales performance of Continuous Gas Analyzers in global ABB Measurement and Analytics division, participating in sales strategy discussions, assigning goals and negotiating sales budgets and marketing plans. Reporting to the Product Line Market Manager, you will direct and coach the different local sales teams that are assigned to you to meet their targets and exceed customer expectations.

Your responsibilities
- Assisting the sales team and customers throughout the sales process, while developing business by increasing knowledge of products and markets
- Identifying customer needs and competitors’ offerings through market studies, ensuring that marketing is effective and that communications demonstrate the value proposition of products and services
- Aiding the area sales organization in determining the best solutions, and providing technical support, product presentations and training
- Performing sales performance reviews, proposing recovery plans for potential order shortfalls, and producing sales reports to assist in production planning
- Taking ownership of specific cases to ensure customer issues are resolved, and discovering the causes of lost proposals
Your background
- Preferably 2 years of experience in similar role in direct sales or business development, working as a technical sales engineer to support industrial customers in understanding their measurement requirements and engineering or proposing the right solutions.
- Knowledge of industrial processes, measurement applications and sensor technologies.
- A very strong commercial feeling with the right attitude to learn the Continuous Gas Analyzer products and the applications they are used in are however more important than the 2 years of experience
- Experience in business development, account management and cross-selling
- An understanding of contract negotiations, risk management, and commercial and legal terms
- Exceptional spoken and written communication skills, negotiating skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a professional, “can-do” attitude
- A bachelor or master technical degree is preferred
- Fluency in English both spoken and written is a must. German is a plus as well as any other language dealing with colleagues throughout the world
