Our Equity Capital Markets team, part of the Investment Banking division, is responsible for all our equity-related activity across Continental Europe. The team covers transactions such as IPOs, capital increases, convertible bonds and secondary placings and is now firmly established in the top 10 of the European ECM League Tables.

The team in Frankfurt is particularly focussing on the German-speaking region where Berenberg is one of the leading investment banks in Equity Capital Markets:

  • €375m IPO of Mister Spex, €322m IPO of Bike24, CHF 506m IPO of Montana Aerospace, €300m IPO of 468 SPAC I, CHF 848m IPO of PolyPeptide, €414m IPO of Friedrich Vorwerk, €2.3bn IPO of Vantage Towers
  • €2.3bn capital increase for Siemens Healthineers, €120m capital increase for Global Fashion Group, €341m capital increase for CompuGroup Medical (Overview ECM transactions on our website)

The team is based across Frankfurt, Paris and Brussels and this is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious working environment in Frankfurt, benefiting from direct exposure on deals and transactions. With an entrepreneurial spirit at its core, Berenberg is first and foremost an equity house, now boasting 150+ research analysts, 1,200 stocks under coverage, 125 equity sales people and over 15 offices in Europe and the US.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Active involvement in live transactions such as IPOs, capital increases, share reallocations as well as involvement in pre-IPO financing rounds
  • Continuous collaboration with senior management across all work streams and tasks
  • Preparation of marketing and transaction documents (e.g. pitch books, capital market updates, investor feedbacks, steering committee meetings)
  • Analysis and screening of companies and sectors in preparation of client acquisition activities and corresponding pitches
  • Coordination within the banking syndicate
  • Support of the execution of due diligence activities and review of transaction documents
  • Assistance of the senior team in providing high quality client service and dealing with external parties and internal departments
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure work is produced to the highest of standards and completed fully

Your Profile:

  • Excellent academic degree from a top university, ideally within the Economics, Finance or Business field
  • Some experience within a top-tier investment bank or corporate finance firm with exposure to ECM transactions and projects
  • Excellent technical knowledge essential due to the very early responsibility and exposure
  • Strong accounting and valuation skills
  • Impeccable communication skills allowing you to interact with peers, seniors and clients in an articulate and appropriate manner
  • Heavily analytical, driven and focused personality, who consistently delivers high quality work despite an intense workload
  • Team player – the success of the team depends on the frequent interactions between its members across Continental Europe, the UK and the US
  • Fluency in English and German
