ASML took over Berliner Glas GmbH in 2020. At the Berlin site, over 1,600 employees - with expertise in optics, mechanics and electronics - develop and manufacture high-precision key components for ASML lithography systems.

With specific R&D and manufacturing know-how, we develop and produce components for ASML Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) and Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) systems, including wafer boards, reticle chucks and mirror blocks. Our craftsmanship in precision manufacturing, coupled with our expertise in optical manufacturing technology, makes us the global center of excellence for optics and wafer chuck technology within the ASML family.

We are looking for an experienced production manager to manufacture high-precision subassemblies and system components for DUV systems in 24/6 shift operation. Your remit extends over two management levels with over 150 motivated employees.

Role and responsibilities

• Technical and disciplinary management as well as consistent development of a production area of high-precision subassemblies and system components for the semiconductor industry

• Responsible for the smooth running of production with focus on delivery reliability and quality, reduction of lead times, optimization of production costs and increase in productivity

• Planning and monitoring of production processes as well as prioritization of work preparation and production control, taking into account output, ramp-up and strategic goals.

• Cooperation with administrative areas such as maintenance and operative procurement

• Supporting product ramp-ups from product development

• Realization of volume increases according to market development

• Continual optimization of existing processes and structures in close cooperation with Process and Product Engineering, Technology, R&D and Quality Assurance departments

• Development, implementation and assurance of production standards within the framework of operational excellence, e.g. lean manufacturing, 5S, CIP

• Implementation of budget and investment planning as well as medium to long-term scheduling and resource planning in coordination with Operations Management

• Production controlling and regular reporting of relevant key figures

• Responsible for the content check and regular implementation of shop floor meetings
  Participation and implementation of interdepartmental coordination meetings on delivery quantities and deadlines

• Selection of new employees, cross-operational personnel management and responsibility for the achievement of employee targets

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or an equivalent field of study.

• Extensive experience in the manufacturing of sophisticated components, subassemblies or modules, ideally small batch production

• At least five years of experience in a management role, management of executives is an advantage

• Professional experience in an international high-tech environment is an advantage

• Relevant experience in project, change and improvement management

• Sound knowledge of modern production concepts, lean management, manufacturing organization and optimization, continual improvement

• SAP knowledge advantageous

• Forthcoming team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
