The job

We are currently looking for anEvent Logistics Coordinator I (m/f/d). Reporting to the Event Logistics Manager, the UEFA EURO 2024 Event Logistics Coordinator will work closely with internal stakeholders such as procurement, venue management, technical services, ICT, hospitality, access management, signage, and brand production, as well as with local and international suppliers, to provide all relevant services on time and within budget. To be considered for the role, you should be able to demonstrate proven experience in defining and delivering logistics services for major sport events or international organization. We are looking for a proven ability to deliver complex projects within scope and budget and non-negotiable deadlines. You must demonstrate a strong capacity of understanding other stakeholders constraints and requirements and being able to propose solutions to solve situations involving several stakeholders within and outside the event organisation. You must love working in a team and must be able to build strong relationships to ensure that you understand the expectations and constraints of all stakeholders as well as ensuring that they understand their responsibilities. You should be very familiar with excel, word and PowerPoint and be able to produce guidelines for external stakeholders. This role is based in Frankfurt but covers all the ten Host cities and the International Broadcast Centre. As a result, regular travel will be required for venue working visits, regular meeting at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, supplier’s visits and events. Proficiency in English and German is a key selection criterion.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
  • Contracting logistics suppliers and aligning services to the standards expected
  • Gathering logistics needs from internal stakeholders and creating a shipping, courier and warehousing and deliveries concepts that covers all cargo movements and storage requirements, including unexpected deliveries (small or bulk, light of heavy, urgent) and how to handle them
  • Planning and supervising warehousing, inventories, and main shipment activities together with the UEFA central warehouse team located in Belgium
  • Planning and organising all shipping from UEFA central warehouse, UEFA headquarters, to/ from and between venues and the International Broadcast center (IBC) , together with the appointed freight forwarder(s)
  • Planning and supervising all onsite activities at the venue logistics compound set up at each venue and the IBC including space optimisation and maps finalisation
  • Planning and supervising all logistical aspect of the uniforms project (warehousing, uniforms packing by venue team and delivery to the final users)
  • Producing venue delivery guidelines and prepare information workshops for internal stakeholder partners and suppliers
  • Managing venue deliveries using the venue delivery schedule (VDS)
  • Training ELOG onsite staff
  • Gathering needs from internal and external stakeholders and sourcing of handling equipment required at the venues and the International Broadcast Centre
  • Coordinating tenders, contract and onsite delivery of rented heavy machinery to ensure highest quality service standards
Education
  • University degree or equivalent in event management, project management, logistics, or international business
Work experience
  • 3 to 5 years in a multicultural business environment, preferably in international sports events
  • 1 to 3 years in similar event positions, ideally in preparing and running logistics operations for large international projects within an Organising Committee or with a logistics services provider
