The Role

What we need from you?

We’d want to hear from individuals who have the following:

  • Responsible for managing the relationship between Shell and Retailer at site level, ensuring consistent delivery of the Shell Customer Commitment.
  • Identify gaps in all aspects of site performance (including service and people) for geographical area and mandate, advise or offer Retailers Shell recommended tools, processes and support to help them to profitably deliver the Customer Commitment at the Retail site and to develop the business for the mutual benefit of both the Retailer and Shell.
  • Maximize all sales development potential whilst protecting Shells interests, through the coaching and motivating of Retailers. Participate in Attraction and Selection of the right Retailers through coaching, supporting and Performance Management of Retailers to deliver the basics and higher performance, ensure best Retailers have best sites and that poor Retailer performance is eliminated, Manage and maintain positive Retailer relationships, supporting Retailers to achieve and maintain top class site performance (including counseling to underperforming sites).
  • Deliver Sales & Operations targets for geographical area through regular reviews and appropriate action plans.
  • Ensure Retailers implement all areas of the Customer Commitment and ensure compliance with the Site Operations/HSSE standards, contracts and manuals. Instigate remedial action plans where necessary.
  • Manage and maintain territory plan through Retailer master plan.
  • Ensuring that Retailers actions do not damage Shells Reputation.
  • Ensuring that Retailers train and develop their staff and understand the importance of People in delivering the Customer Commitment.


Customers:

  • Ensure consistent delivery of Shells Customer Commitment across the Country through operational excellence in site operational standards incl. HSSE and Shell Business Principles, across the Company and Dealer Owned retail network.
  • Continuously improve Customer Satisfaction through enhancement of peoples competencies/skills and use of customer feedback.
  • Deliver the agreed Marketing and Network Plan and respective targets.
  • Optimize local Business opportunities e.g. local Cooperations.


People:

  • Contribute to the development of a local culture in which Sales & Operations, Retailers and Retailers site staff (through Retailers) are capable and motivated of Making the Difference Real.
  • Participate in the recruitment process of new Retailers and ensure quality and quantity. Optimize integrated profitability for cancellation and negotiation of Retailer contracts / cluster.

Shareholder:

  • Develop (with Sales & Operations Manager) and deliver annual territory sales targets and plans.

HSSE:

  • Ensure that the Life Saving Rules are always adhered to and that any violations are reported as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a strong HSSE culture.
  • Deliver agreed HSSE targets.
  • Protect Shells interest by ensuring that all HSSE standards and procedural compliance are adhered to and stakeholder relationships are managed proactively.

Operational Excellence:

  • Deliver and live the PMTDR programme.
  • Liaise with other Retail Functions (e.g. Network, Marketing) and Downstream Support Functions (e.g. Finance) for cross-Retail objectives specific tasks.
  • Ensure delivery of a competitive pricing position through fuels pricing procedures.

What’s the role?

  • For this position, we are looking for a committed candidate, with strong business acumen, sense of urgency and been delivery driven.
  • Demonstration of Enterprise First and LAT (Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork) behaviours and Shell core values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect for People).
  • Good coaching and strong communications skills.
  • Commercial acumen: business driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Financial thinking with strong commercial mindset.
  • Proven relationship management skills with retailers, peers and other retail department members.
  • Ability to presents and gain acceptance of proposals and solutions.
  • Be a self-starter and achievement orientated.
  • Be fully conversant with the Global & DACH Retail
  • Strategies and the business strategies being pursued by the
  • German retail business.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team spread across the organization.
  • Negotiate practical solutions on behalf of the business.
  • Ability to recognize barriers and overcome them.
  • Ability to work in a team and provide leadership.
  • Strong Retail Sales Experience within Shell.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of site operations and control in a company managed environment.

Key Conditions:

  • Residence in the region required
  • Fluent in German Language
  • English also recommended
  • KFZ driving license required
