Formed in 2017 through the merger of Affinitas GmbH and Spark Networks, Inc., the company has a presence in 29 countries worldwide and is publicly listed on the NYSE American exchange under the ticker symbol “LOV.” The company continues its steady growth and we are now looking to strengthen our Accounting Team with a Staff Accountant (f/m/d) at our Berlin office to assist us with the monthly close.

The Staff Accountant will join a team of approximately 9 and report to the Accounting Manager.

As a Staff Accountant, your mission will be to
  • Support the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager during the monthly close process.
Expected outcomes
  • Performing month-end closing procedures including the preparation of monthly journal entries, monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly fluctuation analysis of general ledger accounts
  • Supporting the accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Conversion of US GAAP accounts to IFRS or German GAAP
  • Communicating with other departments on accounting related matters
  • Performing other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks
  • Assisting in preparing for external audits

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar. CPA or (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK) is a plus
  • At least two years of accounting experience is required
  • Understanding of US GAAP; IFRS, German GAAP and SOX a plus
  • Experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus
  • Experience with BI applications (Qlikview ea) is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • German language skills are a plus
