Job Overview

For TE Connectivity Germany (home office), we are looking for a

Senior Field Engineer (m/f/d) - Products Connector & Relays

The Senior Field Engineer (m/f/d) is supporting the AMs with broader application / product specific knowledge via direct contact to A/B1 customers, and provide technical intelligence to AMs and PMs.

Key Tasks

Strategic Planning
  • Communicate and influence growth plan to internal stakeholders
  • Align growth plan and customer technical needs closely with overall account strategy plan from account owner (AM/SE).
  • Identify gaps in our product and technology roadmaps in conjunction with customers roadmaps.
Cultivate / Manage Relationships
  • Continuously caring for a good trusting relationship between the customer and TE
  • Build customer partnerships by continually demonstrating a strong value proposition and Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE)
  • Perform Voice of the Customer’s and communicate impact to internal stakeholders e.g. PLP’s. Including development of solutions and influencing business directions.
Demand Creation
  • Identify the needs of the customer as early as possible by understanding the Industrial Customers, products & end markets and Applications.
  • Gather all information needed to make the design input available as complete as possible
  • Interface between the TE Engineering design team and the customer to ensure that both sides understand the requirements and have all needed information available
  • Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved TE internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project management, marketing, etc.)
  • Ensure on time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities
  • Stay in permanent contact with the customer and report project status and feedback
  • Attend project meetings and conduct regular customer calls and presentations
  • Do problem solving and assessing technical complaints
  • Develop influencing skills through relationship management, strong communication, and synthesize information in a coherent and impactful way
  • Prepare materials for customer visits
  • ECE through positive Customer communication and touchpoints with both internal and external customers
Market Intelligence
  • Knowledgeable of our current/future product positioning to gain or re-gain market share. This also includes identifying the right selling methodology
  • Understands key components of a Competitive Landscape: customers’ needs and how you can address those needs; how you compare against your competitors in meeting those needs
  • Drives brand awareness and positioning with our customers (solutions and capabilities)
  • Aligns marketing strategies specific to our customers and selling channels
  • Promote BU technologies and product capabilities with the customer
Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge

What your background should look like:
  • Bachelor’s degree of Engineering in one of the following academic disciplines mechanics, electrics, electronics or relevant
  • 2-3 Industrial years’ experience in engineering (required) and sales (preferred)
  • Awareness or ability to gain the relevant market standards and requirements
Skills & Abilities Required
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE)
  • Must have demonstrated successful experience in process management
  • Business acumen and strong project management skills
  • Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Creativity to see alternatives
  • Ability to work toward targets
  • Demonstrated behaviours and values at or above TE standards
  • Fluent in English and German (verbally and written)
