Software Development Engineer (m/f/d)

As a cross-brand provider of connectivity and data services, the Mercedes-Benz Connectivity Services GmbH is driving digitalisation in the automotive industry while offering innovative data-based product solutions. Commercial customers can purchase vehicle-specific and vehicle-related services and data to optimise their fleets or to design new products and business models. Car and van fleet operators are among the customers, as are their service providers, car rental companies, leasing companies and insurance companies, as well as neutral server, app and software developers. Engineering & Technology team:

• We are an experienced & passionate team being in charge to develop & operate data driven digital products and innovative IOT services with cloud native microservices for business customers of Mercedes Benz.
  
• We are working agile, delivering new features to our customers with every sprint using our automated CI/CD pipeline.
  

Your tasks:

• Develop and run innovative services around the connected vehicle in an agile team
  
• Assuring high quality by writing clean code, test cases and collaborating with the test engineers as well as keeping architecture and design documentation up-to-date
  
• Discuss and challenge requirements together with the product manager, product owner and customer
  
• Analyse and solve problems arising during development and production
  
• Contribute to reviews and share your knowledge with the team
  

Your profile:

• Breathing an agile, cloud native and devops mindset
  
• Being comfortable with a polyglot development environment writing code in programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Python
  
• Enthusiastic about writing new and thoughtful codes with privacy and security in mind
  
• Experienced in writing scalable solutions for microservice and event-driven architectures based on Springboot, Flink, Nifi, Kafka & Kubernetes
  
• Experience with microservice API design
  
• Experience with cloud providers, like Azure or AWS
  
• Familiarity with internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, REST, Messaging, OAUTH etc.) and database technologies
  
• Eager to learn new methods and technologies
  
• Fluency in English, German is a plus.
  
• Scrum master skills are a plus
