Senior Process Engineer Metrology, Clay

The Role

BMI are looking for a Senior Process Engineer Metrology Clay to buildup knowledge and experience in the process metrology domain for concrete roof tile manufacturing lines. Your tasks include defining the management process to ensure the achievement of goals as well as managing the change, engaging and involving for full commitment of your team. You will foster the understanding of machine and process know-how for pitched roofing manufacturing lines and develop strategies for standardisation of measurement systems in within the Clay Business. Your are also responsible for the development of meaningful measurement systems for data acquisition in regards to raw material, process and product measurements.

The position contains frequent international business trips and work at different BMI locations within Europe. You could be based at one of our production sites in Germany, e.g. Heusenstamm, Werne, Bamberg, Saarwellingen, or in the Netherlands, Groningen, and/or work partially from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development of meaningful measurement systems for data acquisition in regards to raw material, process and product measurements (ensure to be within specifications)
  • Provide experience in the application of advanced sensor technology such as inline vision and image recognition systems for non destructive product / material testing
  • Application of analytics software solutions and algorithms, define and implement control loops automatically/manual to steer the process
  • Development of an investment strategy depending on the plant analysis and the requirements of the company’s overall strategy.
  • Support in the area of energy optimisation (kiln and dryer) with measurement technology!
  • Manage external metrology machine suppliers (specification, supplier evaluation, factory acceptance testing) for project realisations
  • Configuration and application of fault detection & control (FDC) and statistical process control (SPC) solutions
  • Support the manufacturing IT team in the definition of sensor / machine interfaces for metrology
Qualifications
  • University degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or process engineering
  • Fluent English (add. Language preferred, Spanish, French, German)
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the process or industrial industry
  • Continuous production processes experience
  • Multi site experience (with limited resources and standards)
