THE POSITION

As one of the integral parts of cross Therapeutic Area Excellence, Portfolio Coordination & Planning (PCP) aims at maximizing the Therapeutic Areas’portfolio value by implementing and maintaining a holistic Portfolio Management framework for both Pharmaceutical and Digital Health Assets. As a Senior Portfolio Manager within PCP you provide pharmaceutical and digital health portfolio transparency across the TAs.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • In your new role, you contribute to the definition of the strategic goals of the TA organization by providing recommendations for portfolio prioritizations in line with the corporate goals.
  • You provide consolidated “real time” view of assets according to value, overarching spend, and critical path.
  • One of your key tasks is applying consistent & transparent decision criteria across TA’s and deliver impact analysis of licensing opportunities.
  • Apart from that, you create proposals for strategically relevant alternatives to support decision making by senior executives.
  • As Senior Portfolio Manager, you plan, implement, and continuously improve the TA portfolio review process, also in comparison with pharmaceutical and digital health portfolios of competing pharma peers.
  • With your expertise, you provide transparent insights into the current portfolio and an outlook into the future including budgets and costs, resources, and value for the corporation.
  • Additionally, you proactively identify gaps, synergies, strategic actions, as well as directions and assessing and predicting the consequences of decisions.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master or Diploma) in Life Sciences, Business or Medicine
  • Long-standing pharmaceutical industry experience preferably in drug development with a proven track record of performing in a matrix organization
  • Experience in Portfolio management or in leading large-scale projects as well as few years of experience managing deliverables of multi-functional matrix teams, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Additional some experiences in building relationships at various governance levels and within various functions
  • Team player with competency in networking, building, and sustaining relationships/high cross-functional collaboration
  • Comfortable working in an environment of competing interests and limited resources
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Flexibility to learn and adjust
