We have shipped our first version of AwesomeQA - a B2B SaaS app for web3 communities and our first step in redefining how to manage, support and grow product communities.

Now we want to pick up steam and need your help.

Tasks

As Senior Backend Engineer at AwesomeQA, you will lead all tech decisions regarding our backend. You will work with the team to continuously improve our backend and ship new features. Furthermore, you will work on integrating multiple data sources (blockchain and community data) into our backend, and creating a more seamless experience for the frontend to access this data.

**This is a high-impact role, and you will be in the lead to create the long-term technical strategy for AwesomeQA.

Performance objectives**

  • Design and deliver quality software solutions and new products that help move the company forward.
  • Lead our tech decisions from architecture design, to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Take responsibility for keeping our backend codebase healthy (easy to understand and easy to change)
  • Provide guidance (through code reviews, pair programming and insight hours) to our other engineers to ensure a high-quality backend setup and codebase.
  • Work in an agile environment according to DevOps methodology and concepts.
  • Keep learning about new technologies and practices related to our tech stack and assess whether and how they can be used at AwesomeQA.
Tech stack

We always try to use the best tools available for the job.

Our current tech stack looks like this:
  • Next.js + React + Typescript on the frontend
  • Python backend
  • Separating the AI service from the rest of the backend might be advantageous, so we can use a different language for the latter (We need python for the AI services)
  • → You will be involved in this and similar decisions
  • PostgreSQL for persisting our data (Managed database by GCP)
  • GCP for cloud computing (VM that is hosting the web-app)
  • Docker for all services (Frontend, Backend, Discord-bot, etc.)
No crypto or Web3 experience? No problem!

We’ll help coach you and cover any costs for educational materials for your growth.
