Metro Markets has developed an online B2B marketplace designed for the hotel, restaurant & catering sector in Europe. We have engineering teams that cover every piece needed to run a marketplace. As we’re moving from our first MVP, we’re focused on breaking up our monoliths, building scalable, usable architectures, and scaling our marketplace to 1 billion customers and our business to 10 million products!

As a frontend developer, you will improve the front-end search side of our marketplace and boost its performance with the addition and maintenance of key features for their development and support. You’ll also have a shared responsibility for product quality.

You’ll be part of a team that works with agile methodologies, that’s heavily focused on building software at scale, enhancing and growing existing codebases, and building new systems and processes, to name a few.
You’ve got
  • +3 years of professional experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience in Angular (especially in server-side rendering (SSR))
  • React would be a nice-to-have
  • Very good knowledge regarding ECMAScript standards
  • Good understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles
  • Experience in testing, e.g., Jest/Mocha/Puppeteer
  • Experience with cloud-based infra e.g., GCP/AWS
  • Hands-on experience in node.js is a huge advantage
  • Good communication skills in English (our official language)
