Sales Director APAC (m/f/d) for a leading German electrical engineering company

The Company

The globally positioned company with headquarters in Bavaria and 3,500 employees at locations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America is the leading medium-sized specialist for the demand-oriented supply of energy supply and industrial companies as well as regenerative and conventional energy producers. The company has grown significantly faster than the market in recent years and is striving to develop further and new market potential.

Responsibilities

Overall coordination and alignment of all sales activities for Groups manufacturing locations Malaysia, India, and China

• Overall coordination and alignment of cast resin and distribution transformer sales activities (incl. JV) in APAC

• Coordination with BU, Group Sales, and local APAC Sales Directors and GMs

• Leading all sales acquisition activities in APAC region (excl. China and India) with emphasis on Middle East and Australia

• Leading all pre-qualification and homologation activities in APAC (excl. China and

India) with particular focus on Middle East (UAE, Qatar)

• Responsibility for APAC Lead Sharing Initiative including:

  • Process ownership and coordination
  • Principles for selection of business models (commission-based, outsourced coil

production, outsourced active part production, etc.)

  • Models for and assignment of customer ownership
  • Assignment decisions

Development and extension of APAC agent base specifically suited for cast resin and distribution transformer business

• Development and extension of APAC industry customer’s base

• Further development of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) key customer base in APAC

• Head of Export Sales SGB Malaysia

Qualifications

• Strong professional sales experience in technical products, preferably distribution transformers or other medium voltage equipment

• Preferable high- level customer network at Middle East utilities

• Superior knowledge and experience in building and managing a sales network

• Experience in living and managing teams in APAC

• Extraordinary skills in leadership, analytics, strategic thinking, and commercial negotiations.

• Assertiveness combined with capacity in teamwork and excellent communication skills in English

• Familiar with the main Microsoft Office applications

• Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
