Immediate start date – Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time contract (min. 32 hours/week)
Basler is a leading international manufacturer of imaging components for computer vision applications such as cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, software as well as embedded vision solutions, customized products, and consulting services. The products are used in a variety of computer vision markets, including factory automation, medical, traffic, logistics, retail, and robotics. Founded in 1988, the Basler Group employs approximately 800 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg (near Hamburg) and other locations in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Your responsibilities
- Acting independently, you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating development projects. This will involve seeing development projects through to fruition as well as actively providing impetus with regard to Basler’s project management and project management culture.
- The range of our projects includes among others the development of camera products as well as software for image processing (classical algorithms and AI) SDK and IDE development. Our target systems are PC, embedded as well as computer, cloud.
- In addition to planning and managing projects, you will remain fully focused on meeting customer requirements, keeping within budget, and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- You will work in close cooperation with interfaces to product management, development, and production as well as external development partners.
- Your tasks will include handling changes to project goals, customer requirements, or the general project environment in a manner that is appropriate.
- In this role, you will coordinate an interdisciplinary project team.
- Additionally, you will host workshops and give presentations.
- You will also team up with colleagues from the other Basler development sites in Mannheim, Neumünster or Hamburg.
Your qualifications
- This position would be best suited to a candidate with a university degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering or computer science (or comparable vocational training).
- This will be complemented by at least 2 years of experience in the self-directed execution of development projects.
- You will also have to be confident when it comes to applying project planning/control and project management methods.
- Solid user skills relating to standard project management tools such as MS Project, Jira or TFS are essential.
- You will have to be able to communicate well with experts from different disciplines, such as software, electrical engineering or production – while drawing on your good instinct for people and potential areas of conflict.
- You will need the ability to motivate teams and to inspire them for new topics.
- Recognized certification in project management or similar knowledge and experience would be a decided advantage.
- Ideally, you will be experienced when it comes to project management methods that combine scheduling and an agile approach.
- Hands-on experience in managing software development projects would be desirable.
- Finally, you will need a good command of German and English.
