The successful candidate will be a part of cross-functional teams of experts in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, organic chemistry, bioinformatics and proteomics. This position will offer the unique opportunity for collaborative work across Bayer Pharma, Bayer CropScience and the arm’s length company Vividion Therapeutics. Together we aim to overcome boundaries of druggability applying covalent chemical matter.Your Tasks And Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for making independent scientific contributions to build up and to improve the DNA-encoded library technology platform at Bayer
  • Your focus is on designing, establishing and performing novel biochemical assays for small molecule lead finding
  • You are carrying out state-of-the art data analysis for hit selection and use relevant cellular or biophysical assays to understand target engagement
  • You constantly scout the science and technology landscape in the field and explore novel methodologies
  • You strive for new drug discovery projects in collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Leading scientific projects and presenting outcomes internally and externally are also part of your responsibilities
Who You Are
  • You have a completed Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology or related area
  • Strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and biophysical methods and hands on experience in isolating and characterizing recombinant proteins
  • You have demonstrated success and competency in protein-reagent based in vitro assay development
  • Proficiency with the analysis of large data sets using state-of-the art IT tools; knowlege of R and python is advantagous
  • Experience with encoded library technologies (e.g. DEL, antibody panning) or next generation sequencing is beneficial
  • Your curiosity and passion for research along with your ability to learn and apply new concepts and techniques
  • You have the competence to productively work in a highly collaborative environment as part of an international team
  • Fluent in English spoken and written
