Founded in 2020, unybrands provides a best-in-class experience to sellers looking to exit their Amazon FBA, Shopify DTC or WMT e-commerce business.

unybrands is a rapidly growing next generation e-commerce platform. We operate at the sweet spot of disruptive online marketplace growth and consumers’ exploding demand for micro-brands. Led by an experienced management team, we buy, build and boost marketplace and direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands. unybrands is based in London, Miami, Seattle and Berlin.

We are looking for a Global Head of Accounting to join our growing Finance team here at unybrands. This leadership position reports directly to our Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the group’s accounting operation, treasury management as well as tax planning and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop our worldwide accounting operation located in the UK and the US
  • Steer and closely collaborate with our external accounting and tax service providers
  • Consolidate and report monthly and annual statutory accounts for unybrands group
  • Manage and continue to build a best-in-class inhouse accounting team with the objective to insource accounting operation in 2022
  • Implement a global cloud-based ERP system for unybrands group with support from across all functions and external system experts
  • Build out accounting policies and procedures framework to ensure compliance with local and international tax and accounting principles
  • Enhance control environment by designing and improving systems and processes
  • Provide advice and support regarding business acquisitions and their integration into the group
  • Be point of contact for external auditors, accounting partners as well as tax consultants
  • Collaborate with CFO and Head of FP&A on the multi-year finance roadmap.

What you bring to the party:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including running a global Accounting operation with a focus on international eCommerce in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in combination with an internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, Bilanzbuchhaltung International)
  • Proficiency in IFRS required, UK, German and/or US GAAP know-how a plus
  • Solid understanding of European VAT and US Sales Tax and international transfer pricing principles
  • Hands-on experience with Netsuite, Quickbooks or Xero is expected
  • Experience with implementing a global ERP solution (e.g., Netsuite) is a strong plus
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • The candidate must be fluent in English, German is a strong plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
