This is a temporary assignment not to exceed 90 days.

GSE/AGE Mechanic

The GSE/AGE Mechanic repairs and maintains assigned United States Air Force (USAF) Support Equipment (SE). Performs routine and extended maintenance on Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) units.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains assigned support equipment, using the applicable maintenance instructions and related technical data.
  • Performs corrective maintenance on all SE and AGE equipment.
  • Monitors bench stock items and requests items as needed.
  • Detects and treats corrosion on assigned SE and AGE.
  • Enters required data on maintenance forms manual or automated.
  • Changes oil and lubricates units on a scheduled basis.
  • Files work sheets for maintenance accomplished on all units with department manager.
  • Maintains hand and power tools in accordance with applicable directives.
  • Performs emergency maintenance as required outside normal duty hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school certification or equivalent military experience
  • A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in powered AGE/vehicle maintenance is required.
  • The ability to speak, read and write English, and to comprehend technical data is required.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of AGE equipment repairs, troubleshooting of systems, sub-systems and associated equipment, and applicable publications.
  • Experience in air-conditioning system repair is desired.
  • Forklift experience desired.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English, and to comprehend technical data.
  • Must receive authorization to work in Germany

Contract Requirements in accordance with Appendix J:
  • Completed training on AGE maintenance from military technical school or an accredited technical school/college/university.
